Chronology crunching torrid drama with a cracking cast, 21 Grams rewards in spades once your brain's unravelled the tangled story thread. Del Toro and Naomi Watts both got Oscar nominations for their work here and both were deserving causes, the latter especially.
It's all heartbreaking stuff but this is the sort of movie that rattles around your brain for weeks.
