"My god, it's full of stars!".

- Dave Bowman.

Dave Bowman made that last transmission as he was on his journey to Jupiter back in 2001, when the HAL-9000 supercomputer malfunctioned and sabotaged the Discovery mission before it was complete. Nine years later, having being accountable for the mission's failure, Heywood Floyd now leads a joint Soviet-American mission to Jupiter where they must unravel the appearance of the black monolith and re-activate HAL. Meanwhile, back on Earth, there are growing tensions between the two superpowers...

Excellently adapted from the Arthur C. Clarke novel and directed by Peter Hyams, 2010: The Year We Make Contact features great acting performances from the following cast:

1.) Roy Scheider (Heywood Floyd).

2.) John Lithgow (Dr. Walter Curnow).

3.) Helen Mirren (Tanya Kirbuk).

4.) Bob Balaban (Dr. R. Chandra).

5.) Keir Dullea (Dave Bowman).

Having enjoyed 2001, I knew that watching 2010 would be as great as its predecessor for its possibilities of space travel. Even so, while the drama remained both the action and dialogue grew as not to have boredom for some people. The monoliths remain as I'm understanding how it is possible that they could be key factors of evolution. Now that Star Wars already arrived in the '70s sound in what is supposed to be the empty vacuum of space, including the rocket blasts, is now heard. As with 2001, I knew 2010 is another sci-fi film inaccurately telling the future with the still surviving Soviet Union in an extended Cold War with the United States - who would've thought the former would collapse in 1991 as not to bring up old-fashioned Yankee vs. (formerly) Commie grudges right now? Even though I wanted the story to be as longer as the last film and maybe continue the Odyssey in the future, I'm amazed how nations in the time of conflict can resolve their differences in space as a way to achieve lasting peace. My god, with everything great that I mentioned here, 2010 is definitely full of stars.
