So it's not as groundbreaking as the original, but it's still a solid sci-fi effort in its own right. And you have a cast including Roy Scheider, Helen Mirren, John Lithgow, and the underrated Bob Balaban along for the ride.
You also have an appearance by Keir Dullea, the hero of the original odyssey. This deserves better than its reputation it currently has, being one of the most forgotten sequels.
