Review of 2001 Maniacs (2005) by Conner R — 13 Jul 2009
When wathing this film I found that I was constantly asking myself why? why is there and abstract village inhabitted by maniiacs? why are all the woman dressed in slutty clothes? why, of all places, did the teenagers choose this villag to go once school had ended. And why was this film remade?
Addmittedly there a breif moments of humour, not on purpose, in the increasingly invetive ways of which each person was picked off. Until it came to the token black guy, who as in most horror films, dies in what only can be described as the single most disturbing moment of any film I have seen.
The ending was anti-climatic with each part very predictable, even the "Twist" at the end didn't shock me and I am glad I did not pay money to see this film.
