Review of 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) by Callum S — 07 Jun 2013
Although I wouldn't be able to see it too many times, it is visually awe inspiring, beautiful to watch and one of the most challenging and thought provoking films I've ever seen because it reflects humanity at any time in history.
Kubrick was a genius and any people my age who disagree with me are wrong, he was a meticulous, visually brilliant director who understood humanity and it's all here, his genius, his brilliance, his complex mind and one of the greatest villains of cinema is a robot, HAL 9000 is a true villian because we created him.
Amazing film, slow, sometimes tedious, but amazing nonetheless.
