Stanley Kubrick was famous for making unconventional films simply amazing in every way; but his crowning achievement will forever be 2001: A Space Odyssey. 2001 I easily the most unconventional film ever made and easily one of the best films ever made. 2001 doesn't hold your hand at any point and challenges your mind that you won't get the full experience from one watch. I've watched this easily twenty plus times and each time I am more impressed than last and learn more. 2001 has a story like no other, the arcs and storylines are crafter perfectly and has much more outside the story. The acting is perfect thanks to Kubrick's writing and direction. All elements of film work perfectly in 2001 resulting in Sci-Fi's greatest epic ever made. 2001 is perfect and unforgettable simply because it will never be able to be duplicated. Ever film besides this can be done differently, but 2001 does the impossible and creates an film where you have a zero chance of making something close to it.

For 1968 this was impressive on a technical level; even today it is still much more impressive than cheap CGI and pleasing to the eyes. While 2001 does demand to be watched more than once to fully grasp its brilliance, each time is just as great as the last. 2001: A Space Odyssey is truly deserving of nothing less than a 5/5 rating and can easily stand toe to toe with the likes of Citizen Kane and Godfather.
