Review of 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) by Zachary T — 27 Jan 2014
There are very few science fiction films out there that can stand up to Stanley Kubrick's masterful '2001'. There have been many imitators throughout the years trying to gain the same cult following as Kubrick's masterpiece attained but to no avail.
Out of every film of Kubrick's career, this is the one that stuck with me the most. From the famous jump cut at the beginning of the film to one of the greatest characters to ever make it on screen, HAL 9000, '2001' is a spectacular achievement in film making.
