Certainly the most brilliant,influential and breathtaking film ever filmed and Kubrick's most influential one. 2001 has been an influence for many other Sci-fi movies of its genre (Star wars,star trek,Alien,aliens etc.
..just to name a few), its concept has been several times imitated, its special effects had and will be an inspiration for other director's vision but there will never be a film like Kubrick's 2001, the film with its low-passed and patiently conceived storyline might be a frustration for all moviegoers, Kubrick's masterpiece probably is a theatrical window into his imagination that only can be seen through this film.
