Review of 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) by Connor S — 21 Apr 2014
Back in 1968, science fiction wasn't that great, with Star Trek being the most realistic thing around. However, Stanley Kubrick released 2001: A Space Odyssey, which was a groundbreaking achievement in special effects and realism, but polarized critics.
But looking back at it, 2001: A Space Odyssey is one of the greatest science fiction films of all time, being just as important as Metropolis was back in 1927. To me, 2001 is absolutely perfect in every way.
But I will say that the pacing might be a tad bit slow for most people. That being said, this is a film that deserves to be watched by everyone for it's historical significance.
