I now know why it took me forty years to see this movie. It is terrible! The only interesting part of this movie is when HAL goes off the rails. Besides that it is a drawn out art student fiasco. Was Kubrick afraid to cut anything from this movie.
You could easily cut an hour from this movie and lose absolutely nothing.
