Review of 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) by Jose C — 20 Nov 2015
Stanley Kubrick's "2001: A Space Odyssey" is an epic drama of exploration into space as an astronaut and his computer, HAL, travel to Jupiter to solve a mystery about human evolution in this groundbreaking and influential sci-fi movie. It is regarded as one of the best movies of all time for it's extraordinary portrayal of space exploration and stunning visual effects. The imagery is powerful and the narrative is pushed by pieces of classical musical with little dialogue. This is a visionary tale that not only has transformed filmmaking through the brilliant mind of Kubrick, but also showcases in a foreshadowing way a lot of technology that now exists in the 21st Century.
"Stanley Kubrick and his buddy Hal, don't look so abstract now." - Jimmy Buffett.
