Review of 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) by Joshua T — 27 Feb 2016
With incredibly memorable and creative set designs, brilliant use of classical music coupled with the visuals, one of the best villains in film history, convincing practical effects that still hold up today, great spaceship designs, amazing atmosphere, stunning cinematography, fantastic direction, masterful visual story-telling, fascinating themes and ideas, a riveting plot and one mind-blowing and hypnotic experience (particularly during the finale), 2001: A Space Odyssey is my favourite film of all time for these reasons and it is in my opinion the greatest film in existence.
