Review of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1954) by Adam R — 11 Mar 2016
Enjoyable, even if some of the effects seem out-of-date. Surprisingly, Disney-fication does little to destroy Jules Verne's prescient science fiction tale.
James Mason delivers a great turn as Captain Nemo, adding just enough pathos to off-set the bitter, twisted nature of the character. Kirk Douglas and Peter Lorre are given surprisingly little to do.
