Review of 200 Cigarettes (1999) by Ryan S — 06 Apr 2008
I loved the structure of this American Indy that seems to have exerted a massive influence on many recent films, whilst being sadly overlooked itself (despite an early turn from Ben Affleck). One new year's eve several embittered, lonely twenty-somethings make their way to a party, which we never get to see despite the fact that it ties all of the threads together.
Well, that and a brilliantly cast Dave Chappelle as a philosophising, womanising cabbie who ends up transporting each of them at some point.
