Review of 1776 (1972) by Joanna W — 29 Feb 2008

So I'm trying to watch all the musical films from the wikipedia list I found and this one was first. What an unexpected delight! The lead roles are all perfect, the songs are great and I found the story of how the declaration of Independence came to be surprisingly moving.

Also I thought this movie would be more dated looking than it is, but I think it holds up pretty well. Oh yeah if you don't like musicals you probably shouldn't watch the musicals I review. It's a musical, and yes there are songs; people dance--you know the deal.
