Review of 1776 (1972) by Dan H — 03 Jun 2010
Surprisingly historically accurate. Aside from the singing and dancing, this is how I imagine politics were like back then; serious when needed but none afraid to crack jokes at the expence of their peers political views.
alot of well educated men in a hot room planning the future of our nation. Most of the music is forgettable the first time around but if you get the soundtrack, you'll find yourself listening to it over and over again and find how clever and catchy it really is.
Acting is superb, William Daniels shines. It can be boring at points but then again so is any historical drama, this film just uses music to make history tolerable to the modern america. If your teaching history, this is a great film to show a class.
