Review of 1776 (1972) by Bryce B — 02 Jun 2008
Easily my favorite movie musical. "1776" taks a subject that bores us all through school and makes it entertaining and thrilling. All the actors, Williams Daniels as John Adams and Haward Da Silva excpecially come to mind, are brilliant and add depth to those old people we're told to be grateful for yet seem to try to forget.
The story seems pretty strait forward, but the number of subplots of the film and play make it a worthwhile and fullfilling watch. I recommend this to everyone, great musical score and some truly witty diologue.
1776 rocks!
