Review of 17 Again (2009) by Davidtejada — 27 Jan 2018
"The movie has its own flaws, but still there is NO OTHER MOVIE so human when it comes to the performance of Zac Efron dealing with Mike O'Donnell's past life" ///// Would it sound crazy if I tell you that some people cry when watching this movie??? Well it's crazy because it shows a dad's love and the intention to amend his past, even the whole movie is about correcting mistakes and living life at the fullest.
So, as previous said, it is a cliché theme so it results predictable. Another thing is that we go back to High School Routines (and TRUST ME after wathching HSM I really hated that initiative) besides we see again how teenagers react to some emotions, subjects, school stuff (which is fun for young viewers but for older people it's a bit boring) and "17 Again" doesn't deepen on that (characters, school routines) instead they leave the High School theme as a cliché again (showing just the common thing: A bad guy, his gang, the cool cheerleaders, etc.
) ///// So WHY am I putting this a good score overall??? Because it is so touching, some characters (Alex, Maggie) show at their times the sensation of feeling alone and not being so happy. Even the star of this movie (Zac Efron) gives the most human performance I've seen in his career.
