Review of 1408 (2007) by Dave M — 11 Feb 2013
Creepy, atmospheric, good acting from Cusack, cookie cut Stephen King format. I had a good time. Old school gothic will always trump torture/gore/rape/etc. O-M-G did I just reference Euker? For shame. However, this movie didn't really stay with me.
The story didn't impact me enough to make me want to see it again right away. So I recommend it for a cheap scare and a relief from all the recent horse shit horror. But bring a chick with you so she'll get all scared and have someone to hold and then blow you afterwards to show thanks for being brave when she could not.
Even though you just sat there and unbeknownst to her were also shittin your pants at the "scary parts".
