Review of 1408 (2007) by Tony M — 17 Apr 2012
From Stephen King, whose aptitude for forging cinematically compatible plots is legendary, "1408" is that rare film thriller that might exceed the story from which it is adapted in quality. Though the idea--there's an "evil room" in a haunted hotel--is not exactly new (even in regards to Mr.
King), fully competent direction from Hafstrom, a capable script, and inspired performances from Cusack and Jackson make this film feel fresh.
