Review of 13 Tzameti (2006) by Kim — 25 May 2008
Tzameti is a slow-burning piece of cinema following a man as he is drawn into a dark and disturbing underworld, the details of which are best left for the viewer to discover.
Its stark black and white photography (bar the mobile phones, etc., it looks like it could have been shot fifty years ago) adds immeasurably to the feel of the film, though the main character's lack of action may annoy. The ending, while logical, does somehow diminish the sense of escape that precedes it.
