Review of 13 Going on 30 (2004) by Jenn B — 23 Jan 2012
Wishing to grow up faster sounds fun, as in the case with '13 Going On 30 (Suddenly 30)'. In 1987, 13-year-old Jenna invites the cool kids to her 13th birthday party, gets locked up once her friends desert her, and wishes to "be 13 and flirty".
She wakes up in 2004 (the year this movie was released) and discovers herself in a New York City apartment and finds out that she has a great job. Such of the previously mentioned subplot elements that I saw in the movie would remind me that this is a female version of a similar movie titled 'Big', which is also recommended.
'13 Going On 30' is such great romantic comedy stuff. Jennifer Garner did a good job acting as her main character in the movie and gave it "a comedy for the kid in all of us", as what the poster says.
