Review of 13 Assassins (2010) by Phi N — 02 Aug 2011
What is this? the Japanese version of 300?? First of all, the story was poorly planned. If their real goal was to kill Naritsugu, they should have just kept firing arrows at will from the roof instead of wasting their time hand to hand combat and risking not completing the mission.
Second of all, they said there were only like 130 people left, but I could have sworn the enemies just kept coming and dying, as if there were thousands, lol. Third of all, the fighting scene at the end is way too long.
We get it, they can kill billions of people with their swords... Fourth of all, why didn't they just pay the village to shoot Naritsugu if they had the chance (which they did on the bridge). Lastly, why did that man kill himself after he blocked the bridge? If he wanted to take his life because of his son's death, he would've have done it a long time ago.
What? Now all of a sudden he has the courage to do so? After taking the bribery? The movie's plot was based on a good story and was a good idea. However, the story was not thoroughly thought out..
. Entertaining if you just want to watch action though, I guess...
