Review of 13 Assassins (2010) by Stella D — 21 Aug 2011
With a score of 96% on RT I thought I could not lose with this film. I was very disappointed. It was a second-class Seven Samurai. Character development was poor. The bad guy was mediocre. The plot muddled through.
The plan to kill him was amateurish. I kept hoping the big fight would make up for these, but I was wrong. It was typical Japanese B-movie flailing-your-sword-while-making-jerky-movements. The deaths of most of the characters was disappointing.
I am not sure I can trust RT after this.
