Review of 13 Assassins (2010) by Rahul P — 23 Nov 2011
This film uses great cinematography to paper over how shallow it all is. The big long epic battle consists of the samurai killing wave after wave of unknown henchmen feels like a video game and becomes tedious quickly.
Add to that a 2D villain who's sadistic for the sake of being sadistic. It all looks very nice, but there's no depth.
