Review of 13 Assassins (2010) by Justin T — 22 Jan 2012
13 Assassins is a clear tribute to the classic film Seven Samurai. The first half of the film builds up to an epic battle that takes up the final hour or so. It is gritty, intense, and even over-the-top at times (blood geyser anyone?) with excellent cinematography and sound.
Hollywood should look to this as a model for how to make modern action films (unfortunately they'll probably just do a big-budget remake of it).
