Unexpectedly disappointing - 13 Assassins is badly paced and, lead villain aside, virtually characterless. The 40 minute closing battle is wearying and is akin to watching someone play a video game. With a rewrite and 30 minutes cut, this might have been a better film.
As it is it's a bit of a slog, and the attempts at humour are juvenile.
