Review of 12:08 East of Bucharest (2006) by Clinton G — 09 Nov 2007
A small film from Romania that poses an interesting question: was there a revolution? Three characters grapple with the legacy of the 1989 revolution in Romania and whether their village participated, or if they came out onto the streets after the fact.
While the subject matter is a bit heavy, the film itself is an absolute delight. Great performances, an excellent script, and a few scenes that had me in stitches. One of the best films I've seen, be it this year or any other.
