Review of 12 Years a Slave (2013) by Christopher S — 17 Sep 2014
This film has a lot of disturbing, and gut-wrenching scenes, while the subject of slavery is present in this film, 12 Years a Slave earns respect, and I owe respect to the people who has to go through such a horrible business known a slavery.
I am lucky and thankful to be living in this community, and slavery in the US exists no more. Which is good, because America is the land of the free, and is open to anyone, it shouldn't matter what their skin color is or what country they come from.
We should never judge a person by the skin he or she wears. This movie expresses this message loud and clear. The only reason this film didn't get 5 stars is because it did lag on too long and did get bored in some scenes, and I wasn't on the edge of my seat, but that isn't necessary, since this is gut-wrenching.
This film makes me want to curl up in a blanket and call for mommy.
