Review of 12 Years a Slave (2013) by Robert L — 20 Jun 2015
Fueled by white guilt, it won an Oscar. In a nutshell, a man becomes a slave, then is freed. Given such a mundane plot, the movie focuses on character development. The problem is no character has depth.
The blacks are anguished and the whites are evil; it's just that simple. Brad Pitt's character's ideologies seem chronologically superimposed.
