Review of 12 Rounds (2000) by Michael C — 08 Jun 2010
I have yet to see any quality when it comes to the films that WWE Productions have done. I understand that they want to keep a hold on their talent by giving them another avenue to venture to while they stay with the wrestling business, but still, they need to hire some quality screeners when it comes to the scripts that they get or write.
I know that they don't want another Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson debacle and again, this would not happen if they actually do some really good films. The action was not half bad, but there are some inconsistencies.
The writing was horrible. I have never heard awful dialogue in a film than I heard in this film. So much cheese and cliche that it was just too much to listen to. The plot itself is also just not plausible.
They made the villain just too damn unbelievable. He must have the IQ of a bloody genius or somewhere to that degree considering that he was able to plan this elaborate scheme all in his prison cell or even within a literally small amount of time.
John Cena is a great performer and entertainer. He can surely be The Rock when it comes to acting but if he continues to do these films he will have to stay a wrestler for the rest of his life.
