Review of 12 Angry Men (1957) by Kyle T — 12 Jun 2012
This may be one of my favorite films now, at least in my top five. The acting is top par, not a single person does a bad job. Not all the characters are particularly âmemorableâ? but they are all incredibly acted.
The direction by Sidney Lumet is spectacular. But by far the best part of the entire movie is its writing, which is the closest thing to perfect a script can possibly get. It is so smart, so shocking, and more than anything, exciting.
I was gasping and thinking the whole time. It is my pick for best all time film script. The film uses arguments like bullets, and makes discussion extremely exciting and entertaining. I have never seen it before, but now I am convinced that I not only need to purchase it, I need to watch it time and time again.
I really donâ(TM)t know what else there is to say, it has the smartest script, has some of the most incredible acting ever put to screen, and is now in my top five favorite films of all time, among the ranks of A Clockwork Orange and Amadeus.
