A panel of jury which consists of 12 jurors must decide the faith of a boy who has been accused of killing of his own father. Due to circumstantial evidence which were shown or displayed in the trial eleven jurors out of 12 were compelled to believe that the boy had committed the crime but there is just one person among the lot who feels is necessary for them to discuss the case a little more deeply to find the actual truth.what we see of the movie afterwards is the mental difficulty of this juror to convince other juror that the boy has not commited a crime.

As you have guessed the person who portrayed the odd one out was the incredible and magical actor henry Fonda. The movie is crime drama by genre. The element which makes the movie still watchable after almost 50 years is the direction of sidney lumet, fabulous performance from the cast, the natural script and last but not the least is to know the final verdict of these jurors.

Mr Lumet was also successful in making the movie visualize the each jurors mental torment, mental conflict, physical disturbances(the rooms air conditioning was out of order)and the feel of claustrophobia among the members.lumet proves that with just a superb cast,a tiny room and vision for directing this film was just needed for making this film an audience nail bitter.remember that he achieved this thrilling elment of the movie by not using any cgi,a car exploding every 3 minutes.

It is never revealed whether the boy actually committed the crime but what is important is that the movie shows that just one person is enough to change the opinion of many other individuals by using only two important bits ie brains and words.another peculiarity that I find in this movie is that none of the jurors names are relieved except 2 jurors with this I assume that these jurors were identified with everyman or common man with completely different opinion and characters.i just forgot to mention that lee j.cobb have done justice to his role by acting it.
