Review of 12 and Holding (2006) by Dan P — 08 Jun 2007
A movie that goes unnoticed, especially one that is full of insight is a shame. 12 and Holding is a film that is not to be looked over. When a director is creating a story where the three main characters are kids, he is going to have a hard time convincng audiences.
Child actors are not always bad but to focus on three of hem so closely in a film as dark and serious as Twelve is daring. Cuesta captures the emotional trauma of three friends after the death of one of the kids', Jacob's, brother.
This film is an insight into the minds of a people, children especially, and how their lives change with the death of one of their own. See it, tell a friend, tell a parent. This film is one many should see and come to understand.
