Review of 12 and Holding (2006) by Christopher B — 30 Mar 2008
A realistic portrait of late childhood. Some of the character motivations are a bit Psych 101, but there is some good acting from the children. The storyline of the obese family felt out of place, particularly since the other two storylines had an important plot connection.
Still it is nice to see a film about childhood that isn't overly sentimental and rife with nostalgia.
