Review of 10th & Wolf (2006) by Ralphe. — 23 Oct 2006
Not awful, but not terrific, either. The material was cluttered with too many subplots, so the main story ended up being rather thin. There are a lot of familiar mob movie clichés. Lots of poorly researched elements -- the meat butchers are straight out of 1930s in a 1990s movie.
Some actors are badly miscast. But the film has some real high moments, too. As one of the reviewers said, however, there are so many excellent mob movies out there, so if you're going to do a mob movie, and it's sort of half-baked, your effort will seem all the less compelling.
