Review of 10,000 BC (2008) by Charlie P — 28 Mar 2010
Just a horribly inaccurate movie with a very long and tedious plot to drag you along. How can you have mammoths and horses together? This movie was such jumble of different eras that made no sense. The combination of the prehistoric age, the Egyptians, the Mayans, early man, and, with the two lead men on the horses, a touch of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
That's how insanely ridiculous this movie was. Even the sfx don't save this film, Sure, the mammoths looked great but the saber-toothed tiger was weak. And the large killer birds were just dumb.
The acting was subpar and what was with the dreadlock hair for the neanderthal-types? A pathetic movie from Roland Emmerich, the creator of 2012 and Independence Day. If you should choose to watch this, first, watch it for free if possible and then you won't feel as bad, and second, go into your screening with a completely empty mind.
Then you won't feel too dumb when you are finished. What a debacle this was and too long as well! Gotta love Hollywood for trashing history and creating its own version of the early times in life.
..sad and disappointing.
