Review of 10,000 BC (2008) by Russ Q — 31 Aug 2010
Well it is a bad film, but not a terrible one. I've seen it twice now and there is entertainment here to be had, and I certainly dont think it deserves it's 9% on the tomatometer.
Understandable though that the criticism is quite widespread, but I think there are a whole lot of worse films out there with higher ratings.
The special effects were satisfying, the action scenes engrossing at times, and the emotional connection with the characters? Well, it was clumsy and unbelievable but there were a few heartstrings pulled at times.
On top of this I liked the whole ridiculous plot with the mammoths and the whole [Egyptian?] city. Think this could have been worked on much better, but alas what's done is done.
Fair film, but definitely nothing great.
