Review of 10,000 BC (2008) by Movie K — 27 Nov 2011

Nothing to shout about or good. Normal movie and story. A tribe who hunts mammoth for food is facing food shortage. The oracle see the future that they will all die, a little girl with blue eyes will be the future warrior savior's wife.

The leader hunter don't want to wait for the prophecy to happen and left the tribe. He ask his best friend Cliff Curtis to take care of his son. The boy love the girl and love grows. Years later, the big hunt day arrive.

The boy Steven Strait is among other guys vying for the white spear, leader of hunter. The net use to trap a mammoth loosen and Steven hand is stuck to it. But eventually he manage to kill it by himself.

He earn the title and the girl Camilla Belle. He tell truth to Cliff he isn't brave and not worthy. Soon, prophecy of demon with 4 legs (actually human riding horse) attack their village and capture many.

The warlord Ben Badra like Camilla and take her. Nathanael Baring mum is killed. Steven, Cliff and 2 other hunters go on rescue mission. Nathanael secretly follow and discovered. They venture out so far from their tribe for the first time.

The snow cover the tracks, making it hard to trace. Camilla leave marks for them and was discovered. Ben use whip to beat her hand. In the jungle there is beast. Even the baddies are scared. Steven freed Camilla and some others before found out.

Run towards jungle and bird beast attack them. Cliff is wounded by Ben. Everyone is capture. Steven save Cliff and nurse his wound. He fell into a trap hole and it start to rain. He save a sabretooth tiger been stuck in there.

It didn't eat him and escape. Steven and Cliff arrive at a village under damage. The sabretooth tiger came but didn't attack Steven. The leader Joel Virgel speak their language and told him many years ago, a man from his tribe came and make friend with him, teach him the language and look like Steven.

But he is caught while leaving. Cliff tell Steven his dad left the tribe for his good future and hand the spear to him because he is afraid others will follow him and abandon the tribe. Joel wife is killed and son cpture by warlord too.

They meet and gather other tribes to join forces. A henchman beat Nathanael and son of Joel, Camilla call out to Ben and he stop him. He warn Ben not to regret. The baddies take ship and escape by river.

Steven and co lost their way in the desert. He manage to find the guide. The people captured are sent to mountain of god to build pyramids. Ben secretly buy Camilla. Steven and gang infiltrate into the jail and try to unite the warrior slaves.

A blind man who know about the gods says that only a warrior with a marking can kill god. The slave leader don't want to join him. Steven saw the blind wearing a bracelet that belong to his father.

Cliff fight with 3 guards and is killed by one. He want him to be brave like his father. Daybreak, they infiltrate into the place. Steven provoke the mammoth and cause rampage. Soon, full battle is on.

The slave leader see the good chance and joins in as well. Ben is going to have his way with Camilla but the guards catch him, saying he can't get slave of god. The henchman expose the matter. The local servant saw the whip scar on Camilla hand and say she bear the mark of the hunter.

The god king want her to die so the fight will cease. When they are about to attack up, Camilla is tie on both hands going to be rip apart. Strike a deal with Steven to leave the place and return to his land, can take back Camilla too.

Steven want his tribesman freed and also granted. When he ask what about the others, the god king says they are his slaves forever. Steven throw his spear and kill the god king, proving he isn't god.

The rampage continue. Ben caught Camilla and escape on horse. She use the arrow pierce him. When she is running towards Steven, Ben shoot arrow and kill her. Steven kill Ben. The oracle give up her life to Camilla.

Joel give seeds to Steven, saying that is what his dad wanted. They bid farewell and return to their land.
