Review of 10 Cloverfield Lane (2016) by Don S — 19 Jun 2016
This movie started as one of the best movies I had seen in a while. The first 90% of this movie was simply fantastic. It is a thriller in the truest since of the word and John Goodman delivers a hauntingly creepy performance. Mary Elizabeth Winstead also holds the movie up with her resilience and her character is very easy to identify and root for throughout the film.
The film does take a sharp left turn through the last ten to fifteen minutes. I'm not exactly opposed to it, but it took it in a different direction than I would have liked.
FYI This may be set in the same universe as the Cloverfield, but it does not seem to be a sequel.
