An old-school thriller and with Stephen King-style of characters, 10 Cloverfield Lane is a wonderfully crafted, meticulously executed piece of small film-making. Filled with mood swings, terrific acting and a mystery after mystery this is one of the most pleasant surprises of 2016.

Describing what happens in the movie will ultimately spoil the pleasure of watching it. Seeing a trailer will do the same. The only element that could be shared without spoiling anything is that a young lade Michelle (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) experiences a car accident after which she wakes up in a bunker together with Emmett (John Gallagher) and the doomsday paranoiac Howard (John Goodman). From the moment Michelle wakes up you will be involved in a mystery that will fully consume you while you are ultimately enjoying the splendid performance of John Goodman. Without spoiling anything about the content, I could only say that it is as if this movie has been created especially for him or he just really looks as the person he embodies in the movie.

In conclusion, 10 Cloverfield Lane is a must see for every fan of the genre. If you have had negative experience with watching Cloverfield (the found-footage movie) , you should definitely avoid drawing premature conclusions about this sort of movie spin-off. 10 Cloverfield Lane has nothing to do with Matt Reeves' 2008 delivery and it is a much much better experience. Once again, do not watch the trailer, do not read any summer: just get some popcorns from your microwave and fully enjoy it !
