Review of 1 Night (2016) by Jessica J — 20 Feb 2017
1 Night, a recently released independent film, has elevated my perspective of relationships by comparing the varying struggles of inter-generational couples. The film takes place on prom night where a younger couple Bea (Isabelle Fuhrman) and Andy (Kyle Allen), find their night taking a turn for the worst, and must find the best of the situation within one another.
As their young love blooms and blossoms, an older couple portrayed by Anna Camp and Justin Chatwin, strive to rekindle their fading passion towards one another. The two couples portray the pains and aches of growth within a changing relationship, organically, and in their own style.
I felt Isabelle Fuhrman and Kyle Allen depicted the awkwardness, and nerves, of a younger couple exploring their connection more deeply. In return, I could feel the struggle of Anna Camps character and the sting of Justin Chatwin during their emotionally charged scenes.
Overall, I felt an emotional connection with this film, as it was incredibly relatable. If you have a chance to view this film, I highly recommend it.
