Review of Viridiana (1962) by Sebastián C — 07 Jun 2008
Condemned by the vatican and banned in Spain, "Viridiana" is a great example of 60s political art-cinema. Bunuel's message here seems rather blunt even today, and many will disagree. But its definitely worth a look--I loved the photography and work with music and dancing beggars at the film's climax, and of course I loved Bunuel's handling of the excellent cast.
