Review of Twixt (2011) by Aitch V — 27 Sep 2012
I'm sure Coppola had something magical in mind for this movie - I almost felt he had an itch to make this movie.
However, he unfortunately could not surpass mediocrity. Incomplete, forced, tiring - despite the interesting costumes, setting, and make up. Good performances, creepy atmosphere, moody colors, and some memorable scenes (the one with Val Kilmer starting to write his book at the hotel was hilarious).
Although, this movie doesn't cease to be a movie for "a few people" - pointless, flat, confused...the dream of an amateur. And Coppola is nothing but. A movie that lies "twixt" a good vision and a psychedelic bubble.
