Review of The Snow Walker (2003) by Terri H — 10 Sep 2008
This is a lesser known film that I really love. I enjoy movies that have characters set alone in isolated wilderness. Which is what takes place in this movie. Barry Pepper is spot on as Charlie the pilot.
He is a highly under-rated actor. What I think I like most about survivalist movies are watching as the characters go from relying on outside influences to searching inside themselves and finding their souls.
The score to this movie is really beautiful as well. The same theme pops up throughout the movie, weaving the story together quite nicely. Snow Walker is a character driven movie. Both Barry Pepper and Annabella's characters are healed by one another, both physically and spiritually.
This really is a beautiful film.
