Review of The Returned (2004) by David S — 03 May 2012

I was put-off by this film at first upon my initial viewing but over time the film had grown on me... It indeed is very slow, it meanders aimlessly, and moves at a glacial pace (much like the zombies within the film) but there is always that eerie, subtle, disquieting tension that underlies everything.

.. The film tells more of a parable than a story so don't go in expecting a purely conventional film, let alone your typical zombie film... In fact, this possibly is the most radically different zombie film to come out in years!
