Review of The Beat Beneath My Feet (2014) by Lauren D — 27 Oct 2016
The Beat Beneath My Feet is an inspirational rock comedy directed by John Williams, director of multiple Radiohead and Coldplay music videos in his time. Williams is an outstanding storyteller as he combines music with an excellently written narrative to produce a moving and beautiful film.
The story follows a young aspiring musician named Tom (Nick Galitzine) who transforms from an awkward and shy guitar player into a strong and confident rockstar who competes in the Battle of the Bands at his local high school.
This coming-of-age story is relatable to many young men and women struggling to find their voice, although I was left very optimistic.
