Review of The Beat Beneath My Feet (2014) by Elizabeth A — 02 Nov 2016
The Beat Beneath My Feet is not only a thoughtful coming-of-age dramedy but also includes an incredible soundtrack with exceptional vocals from the lead actor Nicholas Galitzine. It centers around a misfit teenage boy named Tom (Nicholas Galitzine) who finds that his reckless neighbor is actually a disgraced rock & roll god (Luke Perry).
I loved how music helped Tom break out of his shell and enabled him to truly be comfortable in his own skin. I also loved how both Galitzine and Perry's characters were positive influences on one another because it made for an optimistic and inspirational film.
If you love indie movies, I highly recommend giving this film a watch.
