Review of Stockholm (2019) by Cecilecoop5 — 15 Apr 2019
I love a film that can captivate me in the way that “Stockholm” was able to do! The film tells the true story of the origin of Stockholm Syndrome, following bank robber Lars Nystrom (played by Ethan Hawke who does an incredible job in the role) as he strives to get the Swedish government to release his best friend from custody.
It masterfully combines well-written, humorous dialogue with characters that have great chemistry and grow with each other perfectly. This characterization is so important to the overall feeling of the film; it’s obvious that the film is written to make the viewer sympathize with the captor and leave the film feeling the same as the captives.
