Review of Star 80 (1983) by Robert H — 20 Aug 2007
A hard film to watch in some parts due to content and violence. Yet the film is a worth while one because it is honest and realistic about its material. It does not show glory in the film's darker moments.
Eric Roberts is amazing here because even though his character is slim, he provides complexity and even some sympathy. Bob Fosse puts a depressing, yet powerful film together here. Star 80 is a film that stays fresh in your mind.
A great study of the dark side of fame and human nature.
